Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a backend generalist engineer to write robust code that drives the world’s first transit planning platform. We use mostly Ruby, Python, and Javascript, and use Postgres/PostGIS. We have many interesting problems, from efficiently querying geospatial databases to pulling meaning out of disparate transit data sources. 

You’ll be responsible for:

Developing and improving our systems to digest and make sense of transit data
Working with a stellar team of six other engineers to build new features and products that help cities make better decisions

You’re a good fit if:

You’ve spent a couple of years working on web applications used by real people
You have a knack for using data and asking the right question when working with complex problem domains
You’re resourceful — as a small company, you’ll be able to get a lot done here
You have significant database experience (query optimization, etc)

Designer

Design is at the heart of what we do. You’ll be in charge of the user experience at Remix, helping to create a compelling simple app used by cities across the world to plan great transit. Our company was founded by designers (Sam and Tiffany) and we take this stuff very seriously.

You’d be a good fit if:

You have experience creating and maintaining products with real-world users.
 Your visual design is strong and opinionated.
 You’ve worked closely with engineers to get great design out the door.

 You should be comfortable making detailed graphics and figuring out how an application should work and feel.

Talent Lead

We’re looking for someone to lead Talent at Remix. You'll be building an exceptional team that helps cities around the world transform the way they plan. You'll work extremely closely with the founders and executive team to triple our company size from 20 to 60 over the next 18 months, with a focus on technical recruiting.

Talent is a crucial part of creating culture, and this is our first talent hire at Remix. The two words people use most when describing the Remix team: humble and driven. If you’re a lead recruiter who cares about social impact and wants to join a mission-driven team, read on.

You’ll be responsible for:
full-cycle recruiting at Remix - from collaborating closely with hiring managers, to sourcing candidates, managing the interview process, closing candidates, and setting them up for onboarding success
developing an overall hiring strategy and process for the company - we have the basics in place, but need someone to lead the function
 envisioning, designing, and owning the complete candidate experience for every single candidate
tripling the size of the Remix team over the next year and a half

VP of Enterprise Sales

In a year and a half, Remix is being used by 100+ cities around the world. We will experience 400% growth in 2016 and expecting 300% growth in 2017. Get on board now!

We’re looking for a proven enterprise sales leader to help us build and define our enterprise sales strategy from the ground up. You will be the first Enterprise sales hire for Remix, working collaboratively with the CRO/co-founders to shape how we approach the enterprise market. You will lead by example in the beginning by closing these accounts yourself to personally experience the existing process.

Once you master the sales process and get some wins under your belt, you will shortly be asked to build a enterprise sales team around your experiences and methodologies. Your skills for interviewing, on-boarding and mentoring a team to quota will be crucial in this role. Dont worry; you will not have to start from scratch. Ten of the top US agencies are using Remix, and we have case studies that show a great return on investment.
 
You’d be a good fit if you:

have a strong track record closing six-figure enterprise SaaS deals (B2G/B2B) yourself with 6–9 mo sales cycle
have used the “Proof of Concept” methodology to drive your enterprise deal, and are very proficient at creating and delivering an ROI presentation that makes it easy for the customer to say “YES”
worked closely with Customer Success to drive strong ROI and long-term partnerships
have successfully built (hired, onboarded and developed) an enterprise sales team
have experience or are comfortable working in a startup environment where the playbook is evolving
care about cities and the way they are planned and built
are low-ego, empathetic, adaptable, and incredibly ambitious
 work collaboratively with a team passionate about solving the technology challenges in government today

What you will do:

 initially be a player for closing larger enterprise deals. Learn the process you will coach, and eventually hire a team around you
 hire, onboard and develop enterprise sales reps. Help your team get to 100%+ of their quotas by teaching them what you have learned. Travel with enterprise reps up to 2 weeks per month
with your team, develop and refine a consultative sales process that includes prospecting, initial discovery, product demo, workshop or proof-of-concept to drive a business case, present the business case to executives, negotiate contracts and pass off accounts to customer success
iterate on the current sales process to increase our enterprise close rates and shorten the sales cycles 
 align your team closely with Customer Success

You should have experience in understanding a 4–6 month sales process that spans multiple people and departments with a proven track record consistently being over-quota.  It is important to note that customer success is crucial for our company’s success.  Identifying what success means to the customer in the pre-sales process and driving towards attaining that once they have signed is our #1 priority.
You’d be a good fit if you:

have ~5 years of experience in SaaS sales (B2B / B2G), closing six-figure deals consistently in recent years
use a consultative sales process that focuses on the needs of the client
care about cities and the way they are planned and built
are low-ego, empathetic, adaptable, and incredibly ambitious
 are skilled at multi-tasking and managing multiple threads in parallel while valuing details
 love experimenting to figure out the best process, and like to travel both domestic and internationally

What you will do:

educate, manage, and build relationships with a wide range of local government leaders in large cities
lead deals from initial engagement to close, traveling when needed — starting in North America, with an eye towards strategic global expansion
work closely with the Success team to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers

attend conferences and other events to share knowledge, meet transit leaders

Transportation Planner

Customer Success Manager

We’re looking for someone to work closely with transit agencies around the United States and ensure their success using Remix. This includes training our new users, ensuring they have every opportunity to plan better transit, constant problem solving, and helping to guide our product roadmap. You’ll execute our success strategy with new and existing customers, and scale our team to accommodate a fast-growing base of Remix users. 

Customer success requires a variety of skills: an inclination for customer service, a relentless desire to solve problems, the ability to engage others when teaching, and empathy with our users.

You’d be a good fit if:

You’ve delivered consultant or technology products or projects to a public agency
You can teach technical content comfortably, to large and small groups
You hear problems from others and have a burning desire to solve them
You can manage customer expectations when necessary
You have a fascination with communities of all sizes: large and small, rural and urban
You are a strong presenter, and are energized by spending the day speaking and listening to others
You have experience working with public transit agencies

What you’ll do:

Report to the Director of Customer Success to help guide the development and execution of our team’s overall success strategy
Be our primary point of contact for a portion of the Remix customer community
Continually teach, advise, and challenge our customers to ensure their success
Work closely with our growth team to win customer renewals
Ensure our product roadmap aligns with the needs of smaller transit agencies
Support other aspects of the customer experience such as training content, newsletter, and on-site events
